A well & septic inspection by a DNR licensed inspector is a normal minimum requirement to sell or re-finance your home. Since June 2008, all real estate well inspections and water tests must be done by an individually DNR licensed well pump installer or driller using a state certified water testing laboratory. Master plumbers and water conditioning individuals are not certified under the new law to provide these real estate inspections. Well system inspections include a pumping test using a flow meter and pressure gauges to verify that the well and pump output meet minimum requirements. The well cap is removed and the interior of the well is inspected for any leaks or contamination and code complacency.
In the basement, the pressure tank and well pump controls are inspected and tested and verified for proper code compliancy. A water sample for Coliform Bacteria and E.coli is collected. Our state certified laboratory will have your test results within about 24 hours. Other water tests such as Nitrates, Arsenic, Lead, Pesticides, VOC (volatile organic compounds) and others are available if desired. We can also provide FHA/VA/HUD certified inspections if required.
Should a problem be discovered, a diagnosis of the problem will be given. After the water tests are received from the lab a detailed written report is prepared clearly indicating the condition, performance and code complacency of the system.
